This is a person with theoretical knowledge and practicable experience of planning a lifting operation. (Safe System of Work)

- Legislation ‐ LOLER, PUWER, HASAWA, BS 7121 parts 1,2,3
- Roles and responsibilities of personnel involved with lifting operations
- Documentation and certification for lifting equipment and lifting accessories
- Lifting accessories
- Types of accessories and use, Slinging techniques
- Down rating of accessories, Sling angles
- Planning a lifting operation, lift plan & methodology
- Selecting lifting equipment
- Duty charts
- Communications
- Establishing load weight and centre of gravity
- Proximity hazards , Risk assessments
- Ground bearing & outrigger mats
- Signalling for the lifting, transferring, and positioning of loads
You will require a CITB Managers and Professional HS&E test passed within the last 2 year is required for this course. Click here for more information;

- Duration 5 days (breakdown 4 days training, 1 day testing)
- No PPE requirements
- Start time: Monday to Thursday 08:30 till 16:30 (can run over and start earlier)
- Friday 08:00 to 16:00 latest
- Candidate will get homework
