A Slinger Signaller is responsible for safely lifting, moving, and positioning loads using cranes or other lifting equipment. They attach loads to lifting gear, direct crane operators using hand signals or radios, and ensure all lifts are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations. Their role is critical in preventing accidents and ensuring efficient, safe material handling on construction and industrial sites.

CPCS A40 – Lifting equipment 190301

The CPCS Slinger Signaller Training Course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively direct lifting operations on construction and industrial sites. The course covers key areas including slinging techniques, hand signals, communication with crane operators, load assessment, and health and safety regulations. Through a combination of theory and practical training, participants learn how to attach loads securely, guide crane movements safely, and ensure all lifts comply with CPCS standards. On successful completion, candidates receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
  • We will continue to run our 3-day training course with a maximum of 3 delegates.  However, under the new CITB Grant Scheme we can only accommodate a maximum of 2 candidates claiming a grant using a Levy number.    Please ensure you advise us of the Levy number at the time of booking the course.
  •  

  • PPE required = Hard hat, safety footwear, Hi-visibility vest / jacket, Gloves.

  • Start time: 08:30 till 16:30 (can run over and start earlier)

  • Candidate will get homework
