Training Course Information

Classroom based course covering:

This 5-day course is designed for supervisors and managers responsible for lifting operations. It will teach you the duties of the appointed person and how to fulfill them.

Upon passing the technical tests, you will receive the CPCS trained operator card (red card).

If you already have the CPCS Code A40 Slinger/Signaller qualification, you will also earn the CPCS Code A62 Crane Supervisor qualification.

  • Mode Factors – Understand how to apply downrating for slings and lifting accessories, ensuring safe and effective lifting operations.
  • Duty Charts for Mobile Cranes – Learn how to interpret crane duty charts to determine safe lifting capacities under various configurations and conditions.
  • Spreader Beams – Explore the use and benefits of spreader beams in load distribution and stability during complex lifts.
  • Rigged Weight of Cranes – Gain insight into calculating the rigged weight of cranes, a critical factor in lift planning and site logistics.
  • Crane Drawings – Elevation and Plan Views – Develop the ability to read and produce crane layout drawings in both elevation and plan views, essential for accurate lift planning and communication.
